About Us

Hi, my name is Les Lovell and I am the owner of Home Living Direct.

Some of you may know me from my previous business The Furniture Store/The Bed Shop which I was co-owner for over 20 years, this business had its primary location in Link Drive Wairau Park where you would have found me most days. Due to that location now deemed to be in a flood zone this business had to close in February 2025.

I tried semi-retirement but it just wasn’t for me, so I’m back!! Welcome to my new retail business Home Living Direct. My new location is as a collaboration with Bedpost at 14 Link Drive Wairau Park, call in when passing and check out my range of giftware/décor/metal sculptures and furniture.

My aim is to offer personal and professional service to my customers whilst also offering true value for money spent. I’m limited by space on how much I can display but with over 40 years in the industry I will always try to use that experience to source product for you. My ranges will have an edge of quirkiness and fun to them and in most cases exclusive to me. In the showroom you will find anything from a 2 meter high metal T Rex, or a 1.2 concrete gorilla to a range of cow hides, to over 50 different pieces of art, as well as a range of New Zealand made sofas, absolutely worth a visit.
